Welcome to the Doomsday file download archive.

Here you will find a collection of various files and addon packages for use with the Doomsday Engine. Towards the bottom of the page you will find the standard installation instructions. Note that some packages may require additional steps for successfull installation, in which case these are detailed in the Notes field.

Addons

jDoom

The following addons are for use with DOOM, DOOM2, Ultimate DOOM and Final DOOM (TNT/Plutonia). Some of which may even be used with the shareware version of DOOM (check the Notes).

DOOM2 Classic mix	The "classic" mix of the original DOOM2 music.
DOOM Remixed	Ashley Carr's remix of the original DOOM music.
DOOM2 Remixed	Ashley Car's remix of the original DOOM2 music.
Sycraft's Remix -v4	Version 4 of Sycraft's remixes of both DOOM and DOOM2 original music.
TNT Remixed	Lorcan's remix of the original Final DOOM:TNT music.
Unlimited Ammo	A simple mod to give you unlimited ammo!
Environment pack	Collection of various environmental effects e.g., fog.
Skyglow	Uses coloured lighting to cast a subtle glow in outdoor areas.
Episode One skybox	KuriKai's "semireal" skybox model for DOOM episode one.
Environment effects	Rain for a few levels in Ultimate DOOM, by KuriKai.

jHeretic

The following addons are for use with Heretic.

jHexen

The following addons are for use with Hexen.

Instructions for Downloading and Installing Doomsday Addons

The majority of the packages made available here can be installed via any of the following methods. If installation of particular package varries

Install a package for use with the Doomsday Engine Frontend (a.k.a Snowberry)

Installation via the Frontend's GUI

Download your chosen addon package(s) to some temporay location e.g., your desktop
Launch Snowberry
Navigate to the "Addons" tab
Click the '+' button to open the Addon Installer wizard
Click the '...' button to open the folder browser
Use the folder browser to locate the folder where you downloaded the package(s) to
Click 'Ok'
The Addon Installer should now feature a list of all compatible packages in the chosen folder. Click to select each package that you would like to install
Click 'Install'

At this point the Frontend will install the selected packages and make them available for you to use via the "Addons" tab. You can now delete the package(s) from their temporary location (e.g., your desktop).

Manual installation

Download the chosen package(s) directly into the Addons subdirectory of your Snowberry installation e.g., c:/program files/doomsday/snowberry/addons/

Once installed you still need to "enable" packages via the "Addons" tab, by checking the box(es) adjacent to the name(s) of the package(s) you wish to use.

Other installation methods

If for whatever reason you do not use the Doomsday Engine Frontend, you will need to download your chosen package(s) and then install them manually. Typically, each package contains it's own installation instructions which must be followed for a successful manual install.
